Speaking is conveying messages, feelings, ideas and thoughts about a certain matter which requires skills in expressing them orally so that the meaning of the conversation can be conveyed well from the speaker to the listener. This study primarily intended to answer the following questions: how effective is Role Play in improving students' speaking skills? and how do students respond to the application of Role Play in improving students' speaking skills? The subjects of this research were nursing students in Surya Nusantara Adventist College collegiate year of 2023/2024. This research is field research with a quantitative approach using a questionnaire, and the data is analysed using a Likert Scale. The result showed that most student agreed that the Role-Playing approach improved their communication skills; while fewer students were neutral.
